EOTL

This is a major edit to the original blog post. Me and my temper!

I have now had a communication from Frank, and things are looking more positive on that front. However, MP2 is still on indefinite hold waiting for firmware.

I will still remove the MP2 pages on March 7th, as originally stated. Everyone who wants a copy has probably got one by now anyway, so the page serves no useful purpose at the moment. With DPXE almost done for K149/150 units, I will be making some fairly major changes to the web site in any case.

So, sometime on 07 Mar 2006 everything MP2 related is going to (temporarily, I hope) disappear. Hasta la vista, baby.

Strange. They seem still to be selling Hardware at a good clip, no matter that it can't be used properly. But if you don't have any money or time, you can't develop anything. Sorry to see that go down the drain, but it was wishful thinkong anyway. Nothing has essentially moved - on the side of DIY - in the last year. An inovative, user-friendly business-model bites the dust!

I think, really, that it's a case of putting it away in the cupboard for a while. I haven't touched MP2 since the last alpha version was posted, and that annoys me just a little bit...
I did indicate to Bob, back in the beginning, that I'd be quite happy to duplicate his F877 based test programmer in order to move things forward but I've had nothing back. I'm prepared to do the technical work, but I'm not prepared to get involved in the politics - I've got enough of that with my own business. It's high time that the user community as a whole lit an enormous bonfire under them, though.

When I wrote this blog entry I was feeling tired, stressed and annoyed. I'd just put in a 20 hour business day! So having had some sleep I'm now off to tidy it up and try to repair any damage caused by my evil mood!
